Gates Wins National Championship At Stanford

La Jolla High School volleyball star Madeleine Gates, class of 2016, won the 2019 Women’s volleyball championship for Stanford University.  After graduating from UCLA in 3 years, Gates applied and was admitted to the Stanford gradate school for Economics.  In the NCAA championship game, Gates had 10 kills with a .529 hitting percentage. Volleyball Wins Tournament

League Champions

Congratulations to the girls volleyball team for their 8-0 league record and winning the Eastern League Championship!  They volleyball team has an overall 28-4 record and is currently ranked 3rd in the county.

Volleyball Teams Defeat Bishop’s

Congratulations to the girls JV and Varsity Volleyball teams for defeating Bishop’s.  The varsity  match went to 5 sets and the Vikings came out on top 3-2.  The Vikings went into the match ranked #3 in the county and Bishop’s was ranked #2.  The gym was packed and the Vikings managed to pull off a

Volleyball Starts Off Strong

The girls volleyball program is having a strong start to their 2018 season.  The varsity team has had good wins against, OLP, La Jolla Country Day, Poway and Point Loma High school.  The JV and freshmen teams are undefeated as well.

Drobeck Named as Girls Volleyball Head Coach

La Jolla announced the hiring of Kelly Drobeck as the Vikings girls head volleyball coach. Drobeck, a San Diego native, lead Cathedral’s volleyball girls program for over 17 years. During her time at Cathedral, she lead her team to 14 league championships, 15 CIF Division III Championships, 4 State Division III titles and 5 Regional
