Alumni Baseball Game

On Saturday, March 3rd the baseball program held their 25th annual baseball alumni game. The Vikings had over 4o alumni return for the game.   The first pitch was thrown by the 4 baseball head coaches that have coached over the last 50 years of the program.   The Alumni came out on top, but

Ippolito Signs at Lafayette

Congratulations to Max Ippolito who signed with Lafayette College to play Division I college soccer.   Max plays in the US Development Academy of U.S. Soccer and was recruited over a year ago.  Additionally, Max has been as cross country state qualifier and track runner for LJHS.

CIF Wrestling Champion

Congratulations to senior Elliot Austin for winning the CIF Individual Championship for his weight class.   The La Jolla Wrestling Team had a great overall day finishing 8th place out of 26 Division IV CIF schools.  Below are the individual results: Elliot Austin (Sr.) 126 lbs. – CIF Champion (CIF Masters Qualifier) Justin Close (So.) 145 lbs. – 5th place (CIF Masters Alternate)

Western League Champions

Congratulations to the girls soccer team for winning the 2017-2018 Western League title. The team defeated top teams Cathedral and Scripps to win the title.  The team is currently 14-4-4 and went 6-1-1 in the top City Conference League.   The girls are now waiting for their CIF tournament seeding.

All-American

Congratulations to junior Cole Atwell for being named boys water polo second team All-American.  Cole was first team All-League and ALL CIF as he helped lead the boys water polo team to the CIF Open Division finals.

Girls Water Polo Wins Tournament

Congratulations to the girls water polo team for winning the El Nino tournament.  The girls program has won this tournament 6 year in a row. The girls begin their league play on Thursday, January 4th at Cathedral at 3:30pm.  Their first home league game is Tuesday, January 9th at 3:30pm vs Coronado.

Basketball Wins Tournament

Vikings Varsity boys basketball team brings home the championship trophy Friday from the Hilltop Invitational Tournament.  Senior, Jacob Ohara was awarded Tournament MVP and Junior, Behzad Hashemi earned All Tournament Team. The Vikings open their regular season league play the first week of January.
